How We Operate

“I started this company in 2014 as a personal trainer. I have a passion for food, coming from a family of restaurateurs. I believe that healthy food can still taste delicious. As a personal trainer, I had clients who struggled with their food, so I began cooking for them in my spare time. Food4Fitness was born.”

Based on location meals can be delivered on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Once you receive your package, the meals go straight into the fridge and are ready to be reheated at your convenience.

Meals have a stable shelf life of up to 7-10 days refrigerated thanks to the use of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP).

You can also set up a Subscription – save your favourite menu and have it automatically delivered to you every week. You can pause or cancel at any time.

You also have the option of editing and adjusting your order placed prior to order cut off dates. So if you decided you would like to modify, change or add to your own order after it was placed you can do so.

10 Day Shelf Life Without Preservatives

Storage System:

In order to prevent loss of natural freshness and quality, an effective and intelligent food preservation concept called Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) has been developed. The use of natural gases together with proper packing material prolong the food shelf life. The MAP gas mixtures consist of gases already present in the air that we breathe but in different compositions.

From the very moment fruit is picked, corn is harvested or fish is caught, the race against time begins. From now on, natural deterioration and spoilage (internal factors like water activity, pH value, type and quantity of product microorganisms) endanger the quality and shelf-life of the foodstuff. However, external factors (hygienic conditions while processing, temperature etc) also pose a threat to the product’s freshness. In order to prevent this loss of natural freshness and quality, an effective and intelligent concept of food preservation has been developed – Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP). Through the use of natural gases and adequate packaging the quality of foodstuffs is maintained and their shelf-life enhanced without using any preservatives.

Benefits of this are:

  • Preserve the freshness, colour, flavour and nutritional attributes of your food products with an all-natural solution
  • Extend product shelf life by slowing down microbial, enzymatic and physical deterioration that would otherwise occur under air

What does the Modified atmosphere consist of?

Nitrogen

  • Prevents oxidation
  • Limits the growth of aerobic bacteria
  • Protects against package collapse

Carbon Dioxide

  • Limits the growth of bacteria
  • Slows down the development of mold
  • Contributes to package collapse

Oxygen

  • Maintains the bright colour of red meat
  • Prevents anaerobic conditions
  • Essential for respiration of fresh fruits and vegetables

Argon

  • Similar benefits to nitrogen
  • Inhibiting effect on the respiration of fresh fruits and vegetables

Caution

Container and contents will be hot after heating.

Great care has been taken to remove all bones and bone fragments, however some may remain.
